Published Oct 9, 2019

October 9, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Twin Cities United as a new member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Maple Grove (Minn.), Twin Cities United is operated by its Board of Directors, and begins UPSL play in the Midwest Conference West Division.

United Premier Soccer League Midwest Conference Manager Carlos Torres said, "Twin Cities United is an exciting young club that is ready to take the next step, and that's exactly why they are welcome in the UPSL's Midwest Conference. We are targeting a 10-team division in Minnesota for the 2020 Spring Season, which will be great for competition and keeping travel budgets in line by having teams with a geographic proximity to one another. The Minnesota champion will then compete against the other UPSL Midwest Conference division champions from Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio in the playoffs to ultimately produce the Midwest champion. The Twin Cities United front office is working hard to bring a competitive soccer product to the UPSL, and a high-quality soccer atmosphere to Maple Grove. We wish them success as they prepare for the 2020 Spring Season."

Lowell Fortune is Owner and President of Twin Cities United. Born in Liberia, West Africa, Fortune grew up in New Jersey and is an Air Force veteran. He is owner of XPAKK, a Minneapolis (Minn.)-based tech company.

Twin Cities United Owner and President Lowell Fortune said, "For us it comes down the three words, Live, Love and Give. The UPSL provides an opportunity for young, upcoming talent to live their dreams, to do what they love in the hopes that when they're finished playing they'll give back to the community. The UPSL's rapid growth in Minnesota pushed us to get in now because I believe it's going to be more difficult to get into the UPSL in few years the way I see it growing and expanding. The time was right, and the time was right now."

Chad Kielty is CFO of Twin Cities United. A Minnesota native, Kielty is a finance industry consultant.

Dennis Togbah is co-Founder of Twin Cities Unites and serves as the club's General Manager.  A native of Liberia, West Africa, Togbah is a former professional player in the Liberian Premier League.

Keido Toure serves as Head Coach of Twin Cities United. A native of Liberia, West Africa, Toure is a former professional player in Africa, Europe and the United States.

P.B. Stanton serves as Team Legal for Twin Cities United. Nick Curattalo is Communications Director. Andrew Tammento Ellis is Lead Recruiter and co-Founder.

Twin Cities United recently completed its first season in the top division of Liga Independiente, a competitive amateur league based in Minneapolis (Minn.) as Brooklyn FC. Brooklyn FC will remain in Liga Independiente and continue to be the development team for Twin Cities United.

Twin Cities United is finalizing its venue options in compliance with UPSL's National Standards. The club will soon announce its upcoming game schedule.
