September 27, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Youth Academy Division is proud to announce Rayos Futbol Club as its first Youth Academy Division club in Texas.

The Fort Worth (Texas)-based youth club is a registered non-profit organization in the State of Texas, and will participate in the UPSL Youth Academy Division Central Conference for the upcoming 2019 Fall Season. Rayos FC will host its home matches at Dunbar High School (5700 Ramey Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76112) in compliance with UPSL Youth Academy Division Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Executive Director Derek Barraza said, "We are excited to welcome Rayos Futbol Club to the UPSL Youth Division. The club has long-term goals and sees the UPSL as the best pathway its players and the communities it serves. They've surpassed the 10-year mark as a club, and it's exciting to clubs advance themselves through hard work and perseverance. It's a foundation that has set Rayos FC up for success, even in a place like the soccer-rich Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and we wish them well in the UPSL Youth Academy Division."

Antonio Martinez is the Owner of Rayos Futbol Club and serves as Director of Coaching for Rayos FC.

A native of Texas, Antonio Martinez took over the club in 2010 from Founder Juan Sanchez. Martinez holds a USSF National 'E' Coaching License.

Rayos Futbol Club Owner Antonio Martinez said, "The UPSL Youth Academy Division is going to be a good league and we want to be a part of it. It will give our players another circuit of competition, and we can begin to build our club through the UPSL. As the players get older, some will go to college and others can continue to have a place to play, and those that still want to play will have that place."

The UPSL Youth Academy Division aims to be an elite youth competition. Utilizing its affiliation with U.S. Club Soccer, the United Premier Soccer League will provide a pathway for players wanting to achieve higher levels of competition within the UPSL Tier System and beyond.

Sanctioning from U.S. Club Soccer will provide UPSL Youth Academy Division clubs access to an exclusive network of events, tournaments and cup competitions that will further advance opportunities for players.
