April 12, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce San Antonio Corinthians Football Club as a new league member kicking off with the 2019 Spring Season.
Based in San Antonio (Texas), Corinthians Football Club plays in the UPSL Pro Premier Central Conference, and hosts its UPSL home games at Warrior Stadium (17702 NW Military Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78257) in compliance with UPSL Minimum Standards.
San Antonio Corinthians FC welcomes Cedar Stars Rush into Warrior Stadium on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT. Tickets are $10. Parking is free.
United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "San Antonio Corinthians FC is an exciting brand and club, and it's a pleasure to welcome Owners Pete Veras, Arturo Ferrer and Joe Rios to the UPSL Central Conference. The club has some exciting international friendlies planned to coincide with their inaugural UPSL campaign, all of which will make for an exciting first Pro Development season. San Antonio Corinthians FC was created in 2009 and previously competed in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) South Central Conference South Division in 2014.
Jorge Vantolra serves as Technical Director of San Antonio Corinthians FC. A native of Mexico, Vantolra coached previously for Liga MX clubs Monterrey, Pachuca, Monarcas Morelia and Pumas.
San Antonio Corinthians FC Technical Director Jorge Vantolra said, "We decided upon the UPSL mainly due to the growth and competitiveness of the league in recent years. The league's vision of growth and development were vital components in our decision-making when joining the league."
San Antonio Corinthians Academy was launched earlier this year the club's practice facility at Olympus Soccer Complex. Currently comprised of more than 50 youth players, the club has plans to expand their training complex with a new full-sized field in 2020.
The club opened its inaugural UPSL Central Conference South Division campaign with a 1-0 loss to Atletico Katy FC on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, but bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Texas International FC on Saturday, April 6.

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
