UPSL Announces South Florida Expansion with FC Kendall

Kendall, FL-based Club Joins Southeast Conference for 2020 Season
Published Feb 20, 2020

February 20, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce FC Kendall as its newest member.

Based in Miami, FL, FC Kendall is a registered non-profit organization in the State of Florida, and proudly sponsored by Power Avionics & Accessories. FC Kendall will begin UPSL play in the 2020 Spring Season as part of the Southeast Conference Florida South Division. The club will host its UPSL home games at Kendall Soccer Park (8011 SW 127th Ave., Miami, FL 33183) in compliance with UPSL National Division standards.

United Premier Soccer League Vice President Christian Vallejos said, "I'm excited to announce FC Kendall as a new member of UPSL Florida. FC Kendall is a strong club and they have had plenty of recent success in South Florida. The club wants to play in a USASA National League and compete at a higher level. We look forward to watching FC Kendall begin its UPSL journey this season."

FC Kendall was created in 2008 as Uruguay Kendall FC in honor of the founder's roots and was the 2015 USASA Florida State Cup Champions. The club changed its name to FC Kendall in 2017 and was champions of the South Florida-based American Premier Soccer League (APSL) the same year.

Mauro Grignola is Founder and President of FC Kendall. Hans Neuman serves as General Manager and Head Coach.

"Every goal starts with a vision. Several months ago, this group of players decided we would like to play in the UPSL. Since playing in the South Florida Premier League we told ourselves, 'If our core players show up and are consistent, we win and more importantly, are having fun while doing it, then we will strongly consider bigger things.' Gratefully, the CEOs at Power Avionics & Accessories told us the news that they would be sponsoring all of our 2020 Spring Season. This is the right move because our team is ready for the next step, the next challenge, bigger things, and there's no better platform than the UPSL. This is the right league to play against top-notch competition and give our guys the best opportunity to get noticed and possibly take their talents to the next level," Neuman said.

FC Kendall also won the 2016 Miami Copa Alianza, and was four-time champion of the SSM Premier League (2010, '12, '13 and '14), previously Miami's top league.

The club will soon announce its upcoming game schedule.
