July 19, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Barcelona Soccer Excellence as a member kicking off with the 2019 Fall Season.

Based in Tomball (Texas), Barcelona Soccer Excellence will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference South Section and is finalizing its home venue in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "Barcelona Soccer Excellence is going to bring a lot of quality to UPSL Division II as we build out the Central Conference South Section. We are excited to see how Eduardo Losa continues to grow 'BSE', and the talented players he'll bring to help grow Division II and fight for promotion during the 2019 Fall Season."

Eduardo Losa is Owner and Executive Director of Barcelona Soccer Excellence. A native of Cancun, Mexico, Losa is an international marketing specialist with more than 20 years of experience developing young soccer talent.

Barcelona Soccer Excellence Owner Eduardo Losa said, "We've run a Spanish style soccer-based academy with our age appropriate UEFA Pro Level curriculum, and now we're building our pyramid out so that our 16-, 17- and 18-year-olds have something to look forward to. We want to develop them properly, and so that's why we decided to make this jump to the UPSL. On top of everything else the UPSL does, the league is a great place to develop players."

Jordi Cortes is Academy Director for Barcelona Soccer Excellence. A native of Barcelona, Spain, Cortes is a UEFA Pro Master Coach and responsible for instilling a methodology based on Barcelona's SE playing style.

Barcelona Soccer Excellence's training academy has blossomed to more than 250 players since 2016 as its mission remains to increase the level of the game in the United States.

More than 80 players attended the Barcelona SE's open tryout in early July, and the team is already taking shape.

The club soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
