UPSL Announces Minnesota Expansion with Brooklyn Knights FC

Brooklyn Park (Minn.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL for 2020

July 6, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Brooklyn Knights Football Club as a new league member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Brooklyn Park (Minn.), Brooklyn Knights FC will begin play in the UPSL Midwest Conference, and host its UPSL home games at Park Center High School Stadium (7300 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443) in compliance with UPSL Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "We are pleased to welcome Brooklyn Knights FC to the UPSL Midwest Conference. In just two seasons the State of Minnesota has become a stronghold for the UPSL, and Brooklyn Knights FC will add to the depth of competition in the region. Prince Cole has a strong vision for the club and a lot of good people around him in support of the club which will be a quality addition to the group of teams already there. We wish Brooklyn Knights FC success as it prepares for the 2020 season."

Prince Cole is Head Coach of Brooklyn Knights Football Club. A native of Liberia, Cole is a Public Relations specialist.

Brooklyn Knights FC Head Coach Prince Cole said, "The soccer community of Brooklyn Park, Minn., has talented and amazing players that love the game and are ready to play at a high level. My dream is to see these young men exceed expectations and become successful in the future."

Ledaee Zeon, 36, is President of Brooklyn Knights FC. A native of Liberia, Zeon is a production lead at Baxter International Inc., a health care company.

George Bernard is Vice President of Brooklyn Knights FC. A native of Liberia, Bernerd is a Wal-Mart shift manager.

Brooklyn Knights FC will host open tryouts at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, and at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Zane Sports Complex (8700 Zane Ave. North, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443). The club will announce its upcoming game schedule.

Brooklyn Knights FC is an American Soccer club currently based in Brooklyn Park, Minn., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Brooklyn Knights FC will play in the UPSL's Midwest Conference.

Founded in 2016, Brooklyn Knights FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
